The Role of Women in the Church
Called to serve in the body of Christ
In the New Testament the word “ministry” is diakonia, that is, service. It is the same word used for Martha busy in the house and for Paul’s ministry of testifying to the Gospel. All of us in the church are called to serve, men and women, each with the gifts we have received.
This course wants to encourage women to serve the Lord joyfully and without holding back, and to help the whole church recognize and value their contribution.
In the first module you will go back to the beginning: God’s design in creating man and woman in his image, equal in dignity and complementary, and the condition of women in Jesus’ time.
In the second module you will meet the women of the Gospels and Acts: the woman healed of the issue of blood, the Samaritan woman, Mary of Bethany, the first witnesses of the resurrection, Lydia, Tabitha, Phoebe, Priscilla.
In the third module you will face the most debated texts honestly, together with the different positions held in the evangelical world, and you will reflect on the heart of the one who serves.
With the BereaWay Method you will receive the texts, examine them in their historical and literary context and connect them to the whole of Scripture, so that on such a sensitive subject the Bible truly has the last word.
