The Last Things
Christian hope, from death to the new creation
What awaits us after death? Will Jesus really come back? What do the thousand years of Revelation mean? Few topics arouse so much curiosity, and few have been handled with so much confusion. Yet eschatology, the doctrine of the last things, is not an exercise in predicting the future: it is the hope that gives meaning to the Christian life (Titus 2:13).
In the first module we will tackle the great themes: what time is before God’s eternity, what the Bible teaches about human nature, what happens between death and resurrection, what the resurrection body will be like, and what God’s judgment means. In the second module we will study the end times: the signs, the Antichrist, the return of Jesus and the different evangelical readings of the Millennium, presented respectfully and with their arguments. In the third module we will contemplate the goal: new heavens and a new earth, where God will dwell with his people.
With the BereaWay Method we will distinguish what Scripture says clearly from the matters on which faithful believers may legitimately hold different views. The aim is not to fuel debates, but to learn to live today with our eyes fixed on the One who is coming.
