Hebrews and the General Epistles

Persevering in faith, living in hope, walking in the truth

10 lessons

After Paul’s letters, the New Testament contains other precious writings that are often read less: the letter to the Hebrews and the so-called «general» or «catholic» epistles, that is, letters addressed to a wide audience. They are letters for believers under pressure: tempted to turn back, to separate faith from life, to lose heart in suffering or to follow false teachers.

In the first module you will read the letter to the Hebrews: Jesus is greater than the angels, than Moses and than the old priesthood, and the new covenant is better. In the second module you will listen to James, who calls for a faith that can be seen, and to Peter, who gives hope to «strangers and pilgrims»; with Jude and 2 Peter you will learn to stand firm. In the third module you will discover the letters of John: light, love, truth and the assurance of having eternal life.

As always, the BereaWay Method guides you: receive the message in its context, examine it closely and connect it to the rest of Scripture and to your life.
