Christology

The person and work of Jesus Christ throughout Scripture

11 lessons

“But whom say ye that I am?” (Matthew 16:15). Jesus put this question to his disciples, and the Church has never stopped answering it. No question is more important: who Jesus is determines what the cross means, what salvation means and what it means to follow him.

This course takes up what you learned in Who Is Jesus and goes deeper. In the first module we will see how the first Christians had to defend the truth about Christ against errors that still return today, and we will study his identity as the only begotten Son and his deity. In the second module we will follow the example of Jesus himself, who, “beginning at Moses and all the prophets”, expounded what the Scriptures said about him (Luke 24:27). In the third module we will contemplate the mystery of the incarnation: one single person, true God and true man. In the fourth module we will read the letter to the Hebrews, which presents Christ as greater than all and a high priest forever.

With the BereaWay Method we will connect every text to the great thread of Scripture, which bears witness to Christ. A study that feeds the mind and leads to worship.
