Introduction to Biblical Greek
Drawing near to the language of the New Testament
The New Testament was written in Greek: not the Greek of the classical philosophers, but Koine, the common language spoken around the Mediterranean after Alexander the Great. God chose the language of ordinary people to make the Gospel known to all nations.
This course is designed for those who never studied Greek at school. You will not become a translator in a few weeks, but you will learn to read a verse, to understand how a sentence is built and to use study tools wisely.
In the first module you will get to know the alphabet and the marks of Greek writing. In the second you will discover the cases, the feature that makes Greek so precise. In the third you will enter the world of the verb, where many of the riches of the text are hidden, and you will learn to use interlinears and lexicons.
It is a concrete way to live out the BereaWay Method: to examine the Scriptures carefully, like the believers in Berea, right down to the words the apostles chose.
Every lesson includes exercises on well-known verses, such as John 1:1 and John 3:16.
