Contexts, genres and hard cases: interpreting the Bible in depth
You have already learned to read the Bible with the BereaWay Method: receive the text in its world, examine it carefully, connect it to the whole of Scripture. This course takes you one step further.
It is designed for those who teach, preach, lead a study group, or simply want to go deeper. We will work like the believers in Berea, who were not content with an impression but searched the Scriptures (Acts 17:11).
In the first module we will learn to read a book as a whole: its sections, its themes, the author’s purpose, and then to go down into the detail of words, grammar and the construction of sentences.
In the second module we will return to the literary genres, but with sharper tools: how a story works, what the Law means for the Christian, how to read Hebrew poetry, wisdom, prophecy, parables and epistles.
In the third module we will tackle some hard and disputed texts. Not to give easy answers, but to learn an honest and faithful method that respects the text and those who think differently.
Every lesson combines explanation, concrete examples and guided exercises.
